The French & Italian Department at the University of Arizona is delighted to organize its 2nd Arizona Graduate Conference in French (February 28-29, 2020) to which all MA and doctoral students in French are invited to participate so that they may have the opportunity to :
give a talk following the traditional format of 20 minutes to present plus 10 minutes for questions and comments, in French or in English
present a poster for work in progress to get constructive feedback and a stimulating interaction (15 minutes to present + 15 minutes for feedback), in French or in English
abstract submissions for both formats cannot exceed 300 words
exhibit their visual art (photography, painting, drawing, short film)
attend an instructive research workshop on Digital Humanities
attend two plenaries by renowned researchers on two different topics
meet other students and faculty who are warmly invited to attend as well
watch a Francophone film
STRANDS
This conference mirrors our MA programmes. We will thus be delighted to receive abstracts addressing one or more of the following strands here :
theoretical and applied linguistics
first, second language acquisition
teaching French as a second/foreign language
digital technologies and pedagogy
French and Francophone literature, culture and civilization

Women’s studies, queer studies and sexuality
PLENARIES
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Sébastien Dubreil, Teaching Professor of French and Francophone Studies, Second Language Acquisition, and Technology-Enhanced Learning at Carnegie Mellon University as well as Dr. Moradewun Adejunmobi, Professor of African American and African Studies at University of California, Davis
WORKSHOP
Participants will be able to attend a workshop led by Dr. Bryan Carter, Associate Professor of Africana Studies and Director of the Center for Digital Humanities (University of Arizona).
